Good afternoon!
I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend!
We had a great first three days of school, and I am looking forward to another one! In the first few days, we worked on building a classroom community, we did some math review, wrote about our “perfect classroom” and picked “just right books” to read. I asked each student to make a poster with their name, some color, and possibly a photo to hang on the wall.
This coming week, we will be continuing to get to know each other, begin to learn about Vermont, go over book genres and begin our math classes. During math, students will be working with a smaller group. Third graders will be working with Mrs. Scott or Ms. Hicks, and fourth graders will be with Mrs. Ainslie or myself. I will also be introducing homework expectations, and students will be given their first spelling list.
Have a wonderful rest of the weekend! I look forward to seeing the children tomorrow morning.
